Gang sheets save film when sizes are planned — and waste film when they are guessed. Enter sheet size, design size, gap and margin to see a rectangular packing estimate, optional rotation, and film cost split per design.

This is a quoting and planning tool, not a full nesting RIP.

How it works

Usable area = sheet − margins.
Columns/rows = how many design boxes fit with the chosen gap.
We also try a 90° rotation and keep the higher count.
Film cost uses full sheet area ÷ designs for an average per-design film share.

Worked example

22 × 24 in sheet, 10 × 12 designs, 0.25 in gap/margin.
Often packs 2 across and 1–2 down depending on margins — run the defaults and adjust to your cutter safe zone.

Gang sheet tips

Tip Why
Group same-height designs Fewer wasted rows
Keep cutter clearance Avoid trimming into neighbour jobs
Price mixed sheets carefully Small logos subsidize large prints if you charge flat

Frequently asked questions

Will my RIP fit more than this?

Sometimes, with true nesting. This calculator uses a clean grid so quotes stay conservative.

Are DTF Gang Sheet Calculator results exact for production?

Treat them as planning estimates. Calibrate against your equipment, invoices and waste logs before you lock customer quotes.

Do my inputs leave my browser?

No. PressMath calculators run client-side. Only the contact form sends data you intentionally submit.

What should I do after I get a number?

Open a related calculator or guide on this page, sanity-check units, then verify on a sample before a full run.
